2 busy 2 Blog

Whew!  What a day!  Packed with Autodesk University Sessions, good conversations during breaks and a very nice reception in the Exhibit Hall.

Sat with an old friend, Olimpio DeMarco (formerly with Autodesk, now with Z Corp), during breakfast and the Keynote session.  Later I visited Z Corp’s booth and Olimpio showed me their latest 3d plotter.  Cool stuff.

Speaking of cool stuff, the keynote session featured a great collection of people who were making an Impact (one of the themes of the session) by designing for a better world.  I want me one of them TESLAs!  Hmmm, wonder if they need a Beta tester 😉 ?

Chris France (Little) and Dan Chasteen (Perkins+Will) gave a presentation on their homebrew Cloud solution that blew me away.  I’d love to get my hands on some suitable hardware and start evaluating their approach.

Looking forward to more eye-opening stuff tomorrow.

About Dave Pluke

Dave Pluke served as "the man behind the curtain" (Principal and VP of Technology) of a successful Structural Engineering firm for over 2 decades. Overseeing the transition from two, stand-alone 80286 Personal Computers, through Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) and Design to a fully networked, Building Information Modeling (BIM) integrated environment has provided plenty of "life lessons" (sounds better than "battle scars", doesn't it?). This blog's purpose is to share those experiences and apply lessons learned to better assist meeting the challenges of the future.
